A PRIVILEGED PLACE
We use the phrase “North Valley” as a geographical reference to the area from which we source, farm and produce our artisan Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and dry Rose. While the “Willamette Valley” appellation describes a fairly large area – almost 160 miles long, and nearly 45 miles at its widest – it is in the much smaller, northern corner of this region where its overall best vineyards are found. Here in the “North Valley”, we work to nurture and craft our artisan wines, honoring the best raw materials that nature has to provide. Further, we seek a noteworthy diversity of sources from within the six sub-appellations of the region, giving us a broad palate of flavors and profiles from which to assemble our blends. So whether it is the Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge, the Eola-Amity Hills, Yamhill-Carlton District, Chehalem Mountain area, or McMinnville, we are there, spending time with our growers in their vineyards each week, from flowering all the way through harvest.
The ”North Valley Vineyard”, located in Yamhill-Carlton, is adjacent to Shea, Penner-Ash and Beaux Freres. It is one of two Estate vineyards, the other is Aegrina in the McMinnville AVA. The two sites produce distinctive fruit and contribute depth and complexity to the regional blends.
PEDIGREED VINEYARDS
VALUED PARTNERSHIPS,
RESPONSIBLE PRACTICES
Our grower partnerships are deeply meaningful engagements where shared risks in vineyard farming practices assure us of maximal quality in producing our wines. “North Valley Cooperative” and “North Valley Collective” are naming contsructs that reflect the intention of our grower relations. The personal relationships we enjoy with our growers are further enhanced by our additional commitment to certified sustainable vineyard practices – generally L.I.V.E. or Salmon Safe specifically – ensuring responsible stewardship of our precious land and resulting in the highest quality of fruit we can harvest for our wines.
Some of our esteemed vineyard sources (and grower partnerships) include Zena Crown in the Eola-Amity Hills, Roe & Roe in Ribbon Ridge, Gran Moraine in Yamhill-Carlton, and of course our own home vineyard sites: Aegrina in McMinnville and The North Valley Vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton.
PASSION. MOTIVATION. PURPOSE.
